The Armed Forces Covenant Northamptonshire is celebrating after a number of local employers, who are signed up to the covenant, have been recognised for their commitment to the Armed Forces community in Northamptonshire.

The Armed Forces Employer Recognition scheme awards are in place to award those organisations that go the extra mile for the military community, either as employees or through corporate social responsibility and community work.  There are three levels of award Bronze, Silver and Gold.

To date there are over 280 organisations signed up to the covenant in the region, all of whom have pledged their intent to recognise the vital asset that members of the Armed Forces community can bring to an organisation and ensure that they are supported throughout their employment.

The Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme Silver awards have now been announced and Northamptonshire has five new winners:

  • Arturius International Ltd
  • Cosworth
  • Corby Clinical commissioning Group
  • Nene Clinical Commissioning Group
  • Northamptonshire County Council

This is great news for the organisations and for the armed forces community.

It shows how a business can really support the community and that the amazing skill set that a service leaver, reservist or spouse can bring into a company is being recognised by local organisations.

We're proud to support the armed forces community in Northamptonshire and this award is a testament of the hard work of our dedicated officers - who have just launched The Armed Forces Covenant Northamptonshire website. As a part of the Local Covenant Partnership we are also pleased that some of our partners have also achieved silver. This is great recognition of the individual organisations but also the partnership work and all it has achieved over the last few years.

- Councillor Matt Golby, Leader of Northamptonshire County Council
