12 February 2021

The Royal British Legion and The Jo Cox Foundation are hosting a virtual Zoom panel event on Tuesday 23 February from 11am to midday to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of loneliness and social isolation amongst members of the Armed Forces, veterans, their families, and carers.

The Royal British Legion and The Jo Cox Foundation share a vision of bringing communities together to create a sense of belonging. The event will explore the subject of loneliness and social isolation in the Armed Forces community. Learn about initiatives and plans to address loneliness and social isolation.

It is hoped attendees will be prepared to participate and ask questions. Hear from the Royal British Legion about initiatives and plans on these issues focused on the Armed Forces Community and share our joint commitment to tackling loneliness and social isolation for all.

This event will feature:

  • Johnny Mercer MP - Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Defence People and Veterans
  • Kim Leadbeater – Jo Cox Foundation Ambassador
  • Gail Walters – Assistant Director Operations, the Royal British Legion
  • Special guests – Listen to a number of individuals who have agreed to share their lived experiences of social isolation and loneliness.
